England’s head coach, Sven-Goran Eriksson, claims that Michael Owen will find his game when the World Cup starts. Erikson said he is not worried about the player and the preparation matches he played were very important for Owen.
“When it comes to the World Cup the music is different for Michael Owen. It has always been like that,” explained the coach. “He doesn't go into hard tackles at the moment, and I agree with him about that, but he will when it's the World Cup.”
As for David Beckham, the coach said that he doesn’t understand the critics about the player and underlined his value to the side. “The assistance he has you cannot find anywhere in all the world.”
Eriksson was pleased with England’s 3-1 victory over Hungary at Old Trafford.
